About the FERC Child Development Center
The FERC Child Development Center (CDC) is a non-profit corporation run by a volunteer Board of Directors. The Board is composed of nine Directors: six at-large Directors who may have children enrolled in the Center; a FERC representative; an American Psychological Association (a sponsor of the Center) representative; and the Center’s Director.
Board Functions
Fundraising
The Board organizes and coordinates fundraising activities primarily to support a need-based tuition assistance program for Center families, which it administers. The fundraising activities also support faculty appreciation (such as supplemental benefits, conference fees, and accreditation bonuses) and program enrichment (such as additional classroom equipment, books and toys, and summer programs).
The Board’s fundraising activities are made possible by the efforts and generous contributions of the Center’s families and faculty, as well as friends at FERC, the American Psychological Association, and the surrounding community.
